Coronavirus Update
ADA Coronavirus Dental Emergency Advisory
26 March 2020
To all our Valued Patients,
The American Dental Association (ADA) and the Idaho State Dental Association (ISDA) have issued a Coronavirus Advisory calling upon all dental practices to remain open for emergency dental care only. Dental offices have been asked to close for all other dental treatment through mid-April to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19). They will continue monitoring the conditions and may change the advisory as needed.
Additionally, on Wednesday, March 25th Gov. Brad Little also issued a “stay-at-home” order for the entire state of Idaho to further slow the spread of the virus through April 21st. This order does not apply to “essential activities” such as emergency responders, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurant pick up or delivery service, or health care services such as dentistry.
What this means to Eagle Rivershore Dental Patients
At Eagle Rivershore Dental we are committed to your health. We are doing our part to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus as we follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), ADA, ISDA, and the State of Idaho recommendations to protect your health as well as the overall health of our community.
The effect of these orders on your dental care is that we will continue to provide treatment for those with dental emergencies to protect the health and comfort of our patients and community.
The purpose of emergency dental treatment is to:
- Stop bleeding
- Stop infection
- Stop pain
As dentists, we have been charged to determine what qualifies as a dental emergency.
If you are experiencing:
- Serious bleeding from the teeth or gums
- Dental infection, generally characterized by pain and/or swelling
- Dental pain of the teeth, gums, or jaw
Call us immediately at 208-939-1700.
We are still answering or monitoring our phone calls. As is always the case, we will arrange for an emergency appointment as soon as possible. We won’t leave you hurting.
What About Other Scheduled Dental Care Appointments?
All other planned dental treatment during this period will be rescheduled. This is for “elective” or non-emergency care such as crowns, implants, regular dental exams, teeth cleaning, etc. We will contact our patients individually during this period regarding their scheduled dental appointments.
Thank you for your trust and your patience during this unprecedented time. Please know that we are well and concerned for you and each of our patients. We’re in this together.
